Transparency / Methodology
A paid Arena, separate metric views and scoped evidence labels. This page explains what each signal means—and what it does not mean.
The Arena is a paid visibility mechanism. Eligible public companies are ordered from the highest to the lowest net total of successful one-time EUR payments made to TopTier and attributed to that company. TopTier displays this total as Arena capital. Refunds reduce it. An open or lost chargeback withholds the disputed amount, which returns only if the dispute is won.
When two companies have the same total, the company that reached that total first remains ahead; stable record ordering resolves any remaining tie. A confirmed total of at least €1 can publish an otherwise eligible profile. Payment buys publication and ranking visibility only. It does not buy verification, trust, shares, returns, financial services or an endorsement.
A “Top” category or country page is the same paid Arena order filtered to that category or country. It is never a ranking of quality, revenue, growth, financial performance, creditworthiness or investment potential.
Top of the month applies the paid rule to one calendar month in UTC. A company’s monthly total is the net sum of the EUR payments to TopTier recorded in that month, minus the refunds and chargebacks recorded in that month. Each amount counts in the month it is recorded, so a later refund reduces the later month. A won dispute restores the Arena total, but in Top of the month it only cancels a chargeback recorded in the same month: a payment made in an earlier month never counts as paid in the month the dispute is won. Only listed companies with a positive monthly total appear, and the list is recomputed live from the payment ledger.
Higher monthly totals rank first. When two monthly totals are equal, the company that reached its total first stays ahead; stable record ordering resolves any remaining tie. After a month ends, TopTier records its top three as “#1, #2 and #3 of the month” awards. Awards are historical: each month is awarded once, and later refunds, chargebacks or listing changes do not revoke them. Top of the month is a paid ranking by EUR paid to TopTier, not a ranking of quality, revenue, growth, financial performance or investment potential.
A season applies the same paid rule to one calendar quarter in UTC: Season 1 is autumn 2026 (1 October to 31 December), and each season after it covers the next quarter. A company’s season total is the net sum of the EUR payments to TopTier recorded during the season, minus the refunds and chargebacks recorded during the season, with the same rule as Top of the month for disputes: a payment made before the season never counts as paid in the season in which a dispute is won. Only listed companies with a positive season total appear, and the list is recomputed live from the payment ledger. The all-time Arena total never resets.
Higher season totals rank first. When two season totals are equal, the company that reached its total first stays ahead; stable record ordering resolves any remaining tie. The season page draws each company as a tower whose floors follow the season total: the first floor at €1, and each next floor at one and a half times the previous threshold. After a season ends, TopTier records its top three as season awards, the first being Champion of the season. Season awards are historical: each season is awarded once, and later refunds, chargebacks or listing changes do not revoke them. A season is a paid ranking by EUR paid to TopTier, not a ranking of quality, revenue, growth, financial performance or investment potential.
MRR, ARR, revenue and growth views are separate from the Arena. They order companies by the selected public metric within the displayed filters. Monetary views keep each figure in its original currency and use the selected currency without conversion; a position in one view is not an overall company score.
Equal metric values use a stable company identifier, never Arena capital, as the final ordering rule. A missing public value is shown as unavailable, not as zero. Periods can differ, so visitors should open the profile before comparing figures.
Business metrics are self-reported unless the individual figure carries a current evidence label. Domain verification confirms control of the displayed website domain; it does not verify revenue, legal standing or company quality. Revenue evidence describes a bounded provider snapshot or review for that metric, not the company as a whole.
Evidence labels are scoped to the item and method shown. They do not turn profile statements into audited accounts and do not constitute certification, due diligence, investment advice or endorsement. Paying for an Arena position never changes an evidence label.
The 0–100 trust level is a platform indicator separate from every leaderboard. It combines current domain, company and revenue evidence; a founder identity linked through LinkedIn or X; whether a public metric was updated within the last 30 days; recent supported integrations; and profile completeness.
The score indicates how much structured, current information is available to TopTier. It does not predict success, compare business quality, measure financial health or affect Arena rank. A lower score may simply mean that a company has shared or connected less information.
Profiles show a last-updated date for each public metric. Current revenue evidence is time-bounded and can expire or be revoked; an expired proof no longer supports a verified label. Trust freshness currently means at least one public metric updated within the previous 30 days.
Freshness describes recency, not truth. A recently edited self-reported number remains self-reported. Rankings, evidence, trust and discovery eligibility can change as payments are reconciled, information is updated, proofs expire or moderation is applied.
Discovery is not another ranking. After visitor filters are applied, each sequence starts with the next company in paid Arena order, then includes up to two companies from a daily rotation independent of capital. Duplicates are removed and remaining Arena companies fill the sequence.
The daily rotation is deterministic for a UTC day and changes at midnight UTC. A company qualifies for it when its published profile documents a story, problem and audience and has current verified domain control. Domain control only confirms control of that website. Discovery placement is not an endorsement.
The interactive demo and any example board are explicitly labelled fictional. Their companies, people, positions and figures do not enter the real Arena and are not social proof. When live data cannot be loaded, TopTier labels the view unavailable rather than presenting an empty result as fact.
Company representatives can correct information through their account. Visitors can use “Report this company” on a public profile for incorrect ownership, profile information, metrics, impersonation, fraud or verification. For a broader review, contact Support with the public URL and a factual explanation; do not send secrets or unnecessary personal data.
TopTier may investigate, correct, restrict, unlist or remove content under its terms. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome or response time. Payment questions and reversals follow the Refund policy; formal rules and available appeal context are described in the Terms.
